What one turn does
Type a word. The field accepts a single English word from a list of 5,000. Phrases and numbers are rejected.
Read the rank. Rank 1 means you typed the secret. A rank in the tens means you are in the right neighborhood. A rank in the thousands means the contexts barely overlap.
Change direction. If your best rank is still high, switch the topic instead of stacking synonyms of a distant guess. The hint guide shows which ranks get revealed, and starting words lists openers with a measured mean rank.
Questions
Does a misspelled word count as a guess?
No. If the word is not in the list, the board shows an error and does not add a row.
Can I keep guessing after rank 1?
Yes. After the secret word is found, further guesses still receive ranks, so you can see what sits next to it.
